Craft spells - After the moment
I chosen this text because it had a similar genre as I researched the song I am planning to do a music video on and I encountered this song on the recommendations on Spotify. Conventions of pop videos would be: perfomance/narrative,fast paced editing, lip syncing and mise-en-scene related on the genre and fitting in with the pop genre but this song seems very indie-pop, the lighting is dark and not very vibrant, its a narrative, during the video, he's remembering her, but he coughs up blood and gradully his memories become more vivid then he dies or passes out on the floor at the end. This video is mainly aimed at people going through a break up and maybe assuming that I'm a sad person or I like more emotional pieces but it has a slight beat to it. My video has overlays of previous footage and theres like a vintage/retro filter (flash back) and also a glitching effect. This video expects me to feel sympathy and trying to relate to that person. This isnt a typical pop video as its not as happy.
The social groups would be boy and girl as it focused on the break up and it mainly focuses on the male but you do see his ex-girlfriend.
Hazel English - control
I chosen this text because it had a similar genre as I researched the song I am planning to do a music video on and I encountered this song on the recommendations on Spotify. In this video, theres a lot of: mostly cuts, tracking shots and locations-> desert which is a exotic which fits into the pop video conventions. Theres establishing shots of the motel room. This music video is mostly performance and focusing on the artist as she walks/dances/lip syncing. Theres a bit of narrative, as she drinks a milkshake, explores then arrives to the motel, explores the desert, like a journey. This aimed at a younger audience that are happy and this would be listened to in a car journey. A lot of cuts, the tracking shots seem quite slow in it. The facial expressions seem serious but happy sometimes but its an upbeat song. Its hard to respond to this video as its mainly performance and she just seems neutral and shes just walking around and lip syncing. This is more pop than the other song, more up lifting, this is aimed at women more.
Geowulf - Don't talk about you
I chosen this text because it had a similar genre as I researched the song I am planning to do a music video on and I encountered this song on the recommendations on Spotify. This music video is mostly performance and focuses on the artist and the guitarist. The genre of the music video is dream pop/indie pop. Its located in a field and run down buildings. It has a VHS effect (retro 80s) which doesnt fit in with pop video conventions as pop is mainstream which is different to the rest of the videos I have analysied. I feel like this is aimed at teenagers 13-22 and females mostly. The video seems nt high production and has quirky transitions. Dramatic zoom ins which are similar to the song music vide I have chosen.

The Vamps Music Video
The vamps music video for 'somebody to you' ft Demi Lovato is 3 minutes and 18 seconds long. The video consists of performance and narrative but mainly performance. The narrative is hat the vamps are trying to get with these group of girls and they bond over sports and they attend their mini-concert at the end, so it's happy and positive which is what a pop video should be like. There's one main location was is a beach, however there are other locations which could be close proximity on the beach, the locations were: grass area to play football, volleyball on the beach, tennis courts, swimming pool, Demi Lovato on the car and the stage on the beach and also the beach house. You could argue that there are more locations as there are shots from day and night. The mise-en-scene is very positive and aimed at a younger audience, it's showing a youthful athletic as I said before with all the sports. The music video seems like its The Vamps holiday, with the beach and summer clothing. Demi Lovato's scenes seemed closed off from the vamps and she's sitting on a car but the camera shot made it seem unfocused around the edges, could mean she's a 'dream girl'. There are a number of camera shots, such as the worms eye, in the swimming pool scene where its looking up towards the girls and the lead singer in The Vamps as well as, an over the shoulder shot as he's walking on the beach then switches to POV when he's looking towards the sea. There's always are medium close up of the vamps as it's their song and at the start of the video, there is an establishing shot, of the sea with the introduction of The Vamps with bold bigger writing than Demi Lovato's font but that's because she's the featured singer. There's diegetic sounds of the waves at the start to.
