Risk Assessment

Props and Costumes

The props I will use in my video:
1. typewriter - at the start of the scene as it introduces the song title
2. cassette player & cassette tape- the young girl uses it to show she's listening to the song towards the start
3. Vinyl player/vinyl- this will be used when the music starts and shown sometimes in the music video and will end with the vinyl stopping to indicate it's the end.
4. skateboards - will be used as a hobby they both share and will be good to use when filming tracking shots
5. polaroid photos/ photo album
As my video is produced by VHS Productions, I wanted to add retro props to the video, as most of the video will have a VHS filter over it so I used items that link in well with that type of aesthetic and its more clear that some scenes are flashbacks and link in with that retro aesthetic.
The costumes that my cast will be wearing:
young couple:
Girl-  She'll be wearing black converses, with mom jeans and a stripy shirt to fit in the 70's/80's aesthetic. She'll wear natural make up and red lipstick.
Boy-  A band T-shirt, trainers (worn out) and jeans.
Old couple:
Woman- a more formal sense of clothing, but wearing red lipstick
Male- a more formal sense of clothing, trousers and shirt.
Artists- Both artists are girls and I want them to have that 70's/80's  aesthetic so it links well with the young couple. They will be wearing stripy shirts and one will be wearing dungarees and the other wearing bagger jeans.

Then someone typing on a type writer the title of the song, then the instrumental starts when playing the vinyl. The pace is quite steady and repetitive, I’ll edit the shots in the time of the beat and use a hand held camera and giving it a more intimate feel with the audience

plot blocking graph and synopsis

The two social groups are old and young. To summarize my synopsis, I wanted it to start out with the young people first, then adding performance in certain areas, mostly near the chorus as I'll use fast paced editing as the beat is really fast in those parts. Although, I want hints of retro things towards the start, vinyl, walker-man and a typewriter to start the song title for my music video. I need an opening scene as my song is 2 minutes and 52 seconds. But i'll be imputing my logos and artist logo at the start. I want my music video to be based on flashback and revisiting old memories which I find, heart warming and fun loving. So, i'll add Polaroid photos and use them as transitions to memories where the young couple will be portrayed. I want the young couple to dress very colourful, have to look around 17-19, fitting in with the target audience. They seem more joyful, as well as the older couple being less wild be having a laugh and realizing how lucky they are as they have each other and sharing those memories but they are dressed more formal, so its a sudden change of fashion so its clearer that its set in different times.
